JENSEN BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A heavy law enforcement presence surrounded Jensen Beach High School on Tuesday after an anonymous caller reported to the Stuart Police Department a shooting and bombs on campus, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said its deputies were sent to the school immediately, and administrators placed the campus on lockdown as a precaution. Authorities later confirmed that there was no active shooter and said all students were safe.

The sheriff’s office said the caller claimed there was a shooting underway and that explosive devices had been placed at the school. After investigating, deputies determined the report of a shooting was false. While there is no indication the threat is credible, officials said they are continuing to investigate out of an abundance of caution.

Parents and guardians were urged not to come to campus until the School District releases official instructions. The district is expected to provide guidance on dismissal and student pickup procedures once the situation is fully resolved. The sheriff’s office said that there will be a continued law enforcement presence on campus.
The Martin County School District alerted family and staff members on Tuesday afternoon.
