Additional Project Facts:Segment 1 – Platt to Brorein
This 0.2-mile segment consists of two new pedestrian underpass bridges and a newly constructed multi-use trail from Bayshore Boulevard (immediately south of the Platt Street Bridge) north to the existing Arabelle Riverwalk (just north of the Brorein Street Bridge). This segment links Bayshore to Tony Jannus Park and north to the Arabelle Riverwalk Apartments*.

The longest segment of the project consists of a 1.5-mile contiguous, multi-use trail that begins at Plant Park’s existing brick plaza that abuts seawall and ends at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Complex at Rome Avenue. This segment runs along the west side of the Hillsborough River linking key destinations and public spaces including Plant Park, the University of Tampa, Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, Tampa Preparatory School, Tampa River Center, Blake High School, Stewart Middle Magnet School, the planned Rome Yard Development*, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Complex (between N. Rome Avenue to North Oregon Avenue).
Key features of this segment include:New and widened 12 foot multi-use concrete trail with brick banding, lighting, benches, and new treesLiving shoreline including “habitat panels” and public overlooks at key viewsheds along the trailNew sidewalk connections to West Green Street under I-275Native ornamental landscaping and “Dark Skies” friendly trail lightingSegment 3 – Platt
This segment consists of approximately 1.1 miles of complete street improvements including resurfacing the existing pavement along Platt Street from South Rome Avenue east to Bayshore Boulevard. This segment will provide a dedicated, low-stress connection from Rome Avenue through Hyde Park to the riverfront.

This segment consists of approximately 1.3 miles of complete street improvements including resurfacing the existing pavement along Rome Avenue from West Platt Street north to West Columbus Drive*. This segment will provide a dedicated, low-stress connection for the West Tampa neighborhoods south to Hyde Park and east to the riverfront.

This segment consists of 0.2 miles of complete street improvements along Columbus Drive from North Rome Avenue to North Boulevard to supplement Hillsborough County’s future resurfacing project of the corridor, CIP #: 69691105.* This segment provides a new, low-stress linkage between the existing East Riverwalk and Ridgewood Park neighborhood to West Tampa and the planned improvements along Rome Avenue.
Key features of this segment include:Protected two-way cycle track and shared-use path along the south side of the historic Columbus Drive bridge and around the southeast corner of Rome AvenueNew shared lane markings on the westbound Columbus Drive bridgeNew, high emphasis crosswalks at the south leg of North Riverside DriveCurb and sidewalk improvementsImproved access managementAmericans with Disabilities (ADA) enhancements

Segment 6 – Ridgewood Park
This segment provides approximately 0.4 miles of bicycle boulevard and new multi-use trail and safety enhancements in the Ridgewood Park neighborhood from West Columbus Drive south on Glenwood Dr. to a new high-emphasis crosswalk with pedestrian beacon at Ross Avenue to ultimately connect with the existing East Riverwalk on W. 7th Avenue.
