Judge denies University of Florida College Republicans’ request for preliminary injunction

  • April 21, 2026

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — A federal judge denied a request from the University of Florida College Republicans for a preliminary injunction to postpone the university’s decision to disband the group.

Judge Mark Walker ruled the group did not meet its burden for the preliminary injunction. The case can still proceed.

UF announced last month that the group would dissolve after a student was accused of doing a Nazi salute.

The judge ordered all discovery be submitted by May 26.
