TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Surveillance footage shows a teenager breaking into a smoke shop in Tampa on April 17 and stealing $5,000 worth of merchandise, according to authorities.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said its deputies responded to a burglary at Atomic Smoke Shop on West Hillsborough Avenue around 6:45 a.m.

Deputies discovered the front window of the smoke shop had been shattered, HCSO said.

HCSO said the teenager stole $5,000 worth of merchandise.

Surveillance footage shows a teenager breaking the glass, entering the smoke shop through the shattered window, stealing merchandise and exiting the shop with items in a backpack. HCSO said the teenager stole $5,000 worth of merchandise.

Deputies arrested a 17-year-old on April 19, according to the sheriff’s office.

He was charged with two counts of burglary of an unoccupied structure, third-degree grand theft while wearing a mask and criminal mischief.

HCSO said this is remains an active investigation.
