ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — Witnesses say a brush fire broke out overnight near Savannas Preserve State Park along Jensen Beach Boulevard, with reports of a man allegedly using a torch to start the flames.
Video circulating online Thursday morning appears to show a large stretch of roadside brush burning.

One witness described the situation as a “wild thing to experience.”
Authorities have not yet released official details. CBS12 was on scene Thursday morning. The scene was completely clear, and there was a significant amount of grass charred along Jensen Boulevard.

CBS12 has reached out to Port St. Lucie police and the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office for more information and is still waiting to hear back.
