TAMPA, Fla. — Attention, ARMY!
After a four-year hiatus, the iconic K-pop band BTS is back performing, with their first stop in the U.S. happening this weekend right here in Tampa.
This weekend’s three-show concert is part of the band’s “Arirang” tour. They’ve already made five stops since early April in South Korea and Tokyo.
Ahead of BTS’ Tampa takeover, the hype is real as 60,000 fans are expected to attend each night of the concert.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of this weekend’s BTS concerts.
When is BTS performing?
BTS is performing back-to-back nights at Raymond James Stadium this Saturday and Sunday, followed by one last show this coming Tuesday.
The start time for all three shows is at 8 p.m.
Tampa Bay Boulevard in front of Raymond James Stadium is already shut down and will remain so until 6 p.m. Wednesday as the area is hosting an entire BTS merchandise stand.
“Just how big is the K-Pop band BTS? Big enough to shut down an entire road – for their merchandise,” the city of Tampa wrote blatantly.
Tampa officials are urging drivers to be aware of the possible traffic delays due to the shows. They recommend using alternative transportation options, which can help make moving around easier.
Traffic signage will be posted, and security will be on site.
K-Pop Fan Festival
Outside of the three concerts, another K-pop event taking over Tampa is the fan festival happening at Perry Harvey Sr. Park, which is roughly 10 minutes from Raymond James Stadium.
The event takes place from 1-9 p.m. Friday through Sunday, with food, photocard trading, a K-pop deco station, merch and vendors.
Friday and Saturday night, you can head there for the official after party taking place from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite for $13.05, or a limited number of tickets can be bought at the door for $15.
“This is more than an event,” organizers said. “This is where fans come together.”
What is Arirang?
Arirang is BTS’s fifth and newest studio album, following its release on March 20.
