TAMPA, Fla. — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has upgraded the status of two University of South Florida (USF) students who disappeared a week ago.

Detectives say recent information has come to light that has now led them to consider Nahida Bristy, 27, and Zamil Limon, 27 to be “endangered.” However, specific details in the investigation were not released.

USF police said Zamil Limon and Nahida S. Bristy were last seen on April 16.

Limon is a doctoral student pursuing a degree in geography, environmental science and policy. He was last seen at his home on Avalon Heights Boulevard at around 9 a.m. that day.

Bristy is a doctoral student studying chemical engineering. She was reportedly last seen at around 10 a.m. at the NES building on the USF campus.
