Orlando Health recently broke ground at its downtown Orlando campus for the new Weight Loss and Bariatric Surgery Institute.
According to a press release, the 28,000-square-foot, two-story medical office building at 55 W. Gore St. will house Orlando Health’s “bariatric service lines including weight-loss surgery, endoscopic procedures, obesity medicine, revision and conversion procedures, robotic procedures and surgical body contouring.”
“The new Orlando Health Weight Loss and Bariatric Surgery Institute represents our commitment to increasing access to compassionate, specialized care,” said Cary D’Ortona, president of Orlando Health Medical Group, in the release. “This state-of-the-art building embodies our mission to improve the health and well-being of the people we serve. We are excited to bring this vision to life for our patients in an environment of hope and healing.”
Also located at the institute will be psychiatry and nutrition programs, a demonstration kitchen, and group meeting spaces as well as an advanced training environment called the Bioskills Lab.
