PLANT CITY — Two Plant City residents died after an SUV struck a pedestrian on State Road 60 and overturned, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
A 50-year-old woman walked into the path of a westbound GMC Yukon just west of Horton Road around 11:25 p.m. April 17, troopers said. The driver, a 20-year-old man, swerved to avoid her but lost control, ran off the road and flipped. He was thrown from the SUV as it rolled.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the patrol. Their names were not released.
