Tallahassee’s newest brunch spot, Le Peep, is officially open. The Colorado-born chain debuted in the 1960s and has since expanded across the Midwest and South, including Nebraska, Illinois, and Texas. The Tallahassee location opened on March 9 and quickly became a local obsession.
The restaurant’s popularity has soared in such a short period of time, with wait times reaching as high as 90 minutes during peak brunch hours. Le Peep maintains a 4.6-star online rating, with reviews praising the well-thought-out menu, service, and atmosphere of Le Peep.
Le Peep offers a diverse, creative menu
An extensive, out-of-this-world menu sets Le Peep apart. The restaurant offers a broad range of dishes, including an array of eggs Benedict, burritos, and burgers. A budding favorite on the menu is the rock lobster scramble.

“Along with having the staples, we have a little bit more of creative flair with some of the other options,” Le Peep General Manager Ronda Couture said to the FSView. “The Rock Lobster Scramble is one of my favorite things on the menu: scrambled eggs with, with lobster, with brie, with dill, and tomatoes. Just an elevated breakfast item and that’s what we’re going for; we’re just going for the elevated breakfast experience.”
The restaurant also offers breakfast staples, some with a twist, such as the stuffed French toast featuring a vanilla ricotta and cream cheese filling. Classics like the Belgian waffle remain available, but Le Peep also steps out of the box with its “pancake of the month.” The multifaceted menu appeals to both traditional and adventurous crowds.

A quick crowd-pleaser
Le Peep has been well-received despite attempting to fill the shoes of Yasou Cafe, a Tallahassee staple for several years. So far, Le Peep is stepping up to the plate and filling those shoes quite well.
Le Peep has received outstanding feedback about its customer service. Servers play a large role in the guest experience, often receiving the most praise from diners.
“The kitchen is really flexible, so when you get those customers that come in with special requests, even though Le Peep is a chain, the kitchen is normally willing to work with the customer on what they want to do,” Le Peep server M.J. Booker said to the FSView.
Le Peep has garnered significant adoration in the short time it has been in Tallahassee. Customers already plan to make the restaurant a staple of their breakfast routines.
“[My] kids have deemed it our new breakfast spot,” Tallahassee local Laquishia Gibbs-Jugger said to the FSView. “We have been back twice, and we will be back.”
Le Peep has made a strong impression on the Tallahassee community. Its inviting nature, rich history, delicious food, quality service, and unique atmosphere contribute to an excellent dining experience. If its early popularity is any indicator, Le Peep is here to stay.
