TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — To celebrate America’s 250th, the city of Tampa is set to have a high-energy, family-friendly Fourth of July celebration.
“Liberty by the Bay” will light up Julian B. Lane Park and downtown waterfront on Saturday, July 4, from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the City of Tampa announced.
“This is a once-in-a-generation moment, and Tampa is ready to celebrate in a big way,” said Mayor Jane Castor. “As we mark 250 years of American independence, we’re bringing our community together on the waterfront for a celebration filled with pride. Liberty by the Bay will showcase everything that makes Tampa special, and we can’t wait to celebrate with our residents and visitors.”
The event will feature a 250-drone light show honoring the nation’s 250th birthday, followed by a firework finale.

Kid Zone with family-friendly activities
Food trucks, vendors, and a beer garden
The Humane Society of Tampa Bay Patriotic Pet Show (5 p.m.)
Friends of the Riverwalk Water Ski Show (6 p.m.)
Glazer Children’s Museum Kids Library Procession (6:45 p.m.)
The drone show will begin at 9 p.m. before a fireworks display over the Hillsborough River, the City of Tampa said.
Along with festivities on the Tampa Riverwalk, a Patriotic Boat Parade organized by the Friends of the Riverwalk will take place, and additional fireworks displays at Armature Works and Jackson’s Bistro on Harbour Island.
