TAMPA, Fla. — As Riverfest and other events take over downtown Tampa, heavy traffic and large pedestrian crowds are expected throughout the weekend.

Riverfest is taking over Curtis Hixon Park Friday night and Saturday. The free event spans the entire length of the Riverwalk, as well as several parks. And if you’re hoping to catch the Lightning face off against the Canadiens, a watch party will be held Friday at Water Works Park.
Life Surge, a faith-based business conference, will be at the Tampa Convention Center Friday and Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m.
Perry Harvey Park will host the American Diabetes Association’s Step Out Walk Saturday at 8 a.m.
The Straz Center is also holding several performances, with shows running Friday night and throughout the day Saturday.
The city suggests using the free TECO Line Streetcar, DASH service, HART buses or other rideshares. You can also take advantage of rentable scooters, or walk and bike through Riverwalk.
All city garages offer free bike parking. Riverfest will also offer free bike valet on Ashley Drive.
