Loud parties, nonstop noise and growing complaints. A Jacksonville homeowner pushes for answers as the city launches an investigation next door.
A Jacksonville homeowner says her once-quiet neighborhood has been disrupted by frequent parties and loud events next door — and now city officials confirm the property is under investigation.
Michelle Wilson said she has lived in her home for more than a decade without issue. That changed late last year, when the property behind her house began hosting gatherings with amplified music, comedy shows and other events promoted online.

“This is the stage they built. So when they have their comedy nights, the comedian stands up here,” Wilson said, pointing to a structure visible from her backyard.
Wilson recorded video showing loud music carrying across her property. She said even with double-pane hurricane windows, the noise is difficult to ignore.
“When there’s an event over there, the music is just exceptionally loud,” she said. “We call (the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office) constantly.”
Records show 14 noise complaints have been made to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at the address since January.
According to the city, properties zoned for residential use are intended for living purposes — not commercial activity such as event venues or ticketed parties. While some home-based businesses are allowed, they must not create excessive noise, traffic or disruptions.
Wilson said that standard is not being met.
“I’m on a half-acre piece of property and I can hear the music on the other side of my house,” she said.
The property is advertised online as “City Bricks,” a private event space offering rentals for birthdays, parties and other gatherings. The listing states events are private and not open to the public.
Anthony Austin reached out to a contact listed for the venue. In a text message response, a representative said, “We are not operating a business. We have private events at a private property. Not open to the public. We have met with the noise ordinance in the city and know and respect levels at all times.”
Wilson, who works nights, said the ongoing activity is taking a toll.
“I need to be able to sleep during the daytime,” she said.
A spokesperson for the city said the Municipal Code Compliance Division has an active investigation into the property and the allegations.
The Ask Anthony team has also heard from other viewers reporting similar concerns in their neighborhoods, including large events being hosted at nearby homes despite complaints about noise, parking and disturbances.
Residents experiencing potential code violations can report concerns by calling 630-CITY or submitting a complaint through the city’s website.
