A 6-year-old was transported for life-threatening injuries, and a 4-year-old suffered serious injuries, officials say. Two drivers were left with minor injuries.

OLDSMAR, Fla. — Four people, including two children, were injured in a crash Thursday afternoon in Oldsmar.

It happened at around 4:45 p.m. According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, 27-year-old Jayanna Clark was driving eastbound on Tampa Road in a 2015 Nissan Altima.

Investigators say as she was approaching the intersection of St. Petersburg Drive, 52-year-old Christy Proctor, who was driving a 2021 Tesla Model 3, was facing westbound in the turn lane on Tampa Road to go south onto St. Petersburg Drive.

Both cars entered the intersection at the same time and crashed in the middle, officials say. Proctor and Clark were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Two children were in the car alongside Clark. Authorities say a 6-year-old girl was taken to the hospital for life-threatening injuries, and a 4-year-old boy was also transported for serious injuries.

Investigators say speed appears to be a factor in this crash, but not impairment.

An investigation is ongoing.
