CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK) — Waste Pro began residential waste collection at 5 a.m. on Monday and will continue through Sept. 30 to help combat the summer heat.
Outside of the summer months, trash collection begins at 6 a.m.
The City of Cape Coral contracts solid waste services to keep streets clean and safe. Each residence is provided a tan bin for household waste and a green bin for recyclables; both bins remain city property and must stay with the home.
Collection runs Monday through Friday. Garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulk waste are collected on the same day.
Residents may drop off bulk waste at the North Cape Government Complex, 1200 Kismet Parkway, Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with access via Northwest 14th Avenue.
The city holds quarterly drop-off events to collect bulk items and household chemical waste at City Hall, 1015 Cultural Park Boulevard.
The next drop-off event will be held on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
