FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — Police are actively looking for a missing 14-year-old girl believed to be in the company of a 20-year-old man with active warrants.

The Fort Pierce Police Department (FPPD) announced on Wednesday that officers are searching for Sophia McGriff, a 14-year-old mixed-race female, who was last seen on October 28, leaving Garden Avenue in Fort Pierce. Authorities believe she may be in danger and are working diligently to locate her.

Sophia is reportedly in the company of Nehemiah Childress, a 20-year-old man who currently has active warrants for lewd computer solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a minor for unlawful sexual activity, according to FPPD. Sophia herself has two outstanding warrants for failure to appear.

Police urge anyone with information about Sophia’s whereabouts to contact the Fort Pierce Police Department immediately at (772) 979-1408.
