NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK) — Lee County Utilities has lifted its precautionary water boil notice in North Fort Myers.

The boil notice issued on Tuesday affected an estimated 1,600 homes and 22 businesses along U.S. 41 north of Del Prado Boulevard, including Carefree Village, Tara Woods, and Del Tura Golf and Country Club.

According to utilities, the interruption to the water flow was to install a 12-inch water valve and replace a section of 12-inch water pipe.

Bacterial testing conducted by Lee County Utilities has shown that the drinking water is safe, and residents may now resume their usual use of water without boiling.
