SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Florida drivers are paying more at the pump again, with a large overnight jump, according to AAA.
AAA’s website on Friday showed Florida’s average price for regular gas at $4.283 a gallon. That is up 12 cents from $4.163 on Thursday and up 31 cents from $3.973 a week ago.

In the Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice area, the average price for regular gas was $4.323 a gallon. That was up from $4.167 on Thursday and $3.962 a week ago.
In the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater area, regular averaged $4.315 a gallon. That compared with $4.176 a day earlier and $3.965 a week ago.

Other nearby markets were also elevated. AAA listed regular at $4.305 a gallon in Punta Gorda and $4.331 in Fort Myers-Cape Coral.
Statewide, Florida’s regular gas average was $4.219 a month ago and $3.179 a year ago, according to AAA.
Diesel averaged $5.371 a gallon statewide. That remains below the record average of $5.820 shown in the AAA graphic for April 2, 2026.
Florida’s regular gas average also remains below the record average of $4.891, which AAA lists on June 13, 2022. In Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice, the current regular average remains below the area record of $4.889. In the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater area, it remains below the listed record of $4.903.
