TAMPA, Fla. — A ground stop is in place for Tampa International Airport (TPA) until at least 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued the alert just before 2 p.m., citing thunderstorms and current weather conditions. It comes as Pinellas County is under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning through 3:30 p.m.
As of 3 p.m., there are 181 delays and 23 cancellations at TPA. Airport officials are urging passengers to also check with their airlines for the most up-to-date information.
