TAMPA, Fla. — UPDATE: The ground stop has been lifted.

A ground stop is in place for Tampa International Airport (TPA) until at least 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued the alert just before 2 p.m., citing thunderstorms and current weather conditions. It comes as the following Tampa Bay-area counties are under a Tornado Watch until 6 p.m.:

As of 4 p.m., there are 199 delays and 23 cancellations at TPA. Airport officials are urging passengers to also check with their airlines for the most up-to-date information.
