SOUTH TAMPA, Fla. (CBS12) — A two-month undercover investigation into the Vice Lords gang ended with $40,000 in cash and five pounds of cocaine seized from homes in South Tampa and Davis Islands.
Investigators with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit announced the arrest on Saturday and say the operation focused on members of the Vice Lords gang.
During the probe, investigators say they conducted a buy and bust operation that ended in the arrests of 32-year-old Jose Dehoyos after he allegedly delivered two ounces of cocaine to an undercover.
Following his arrest, investigators reported that they conducted two search warrants at residences in South Tampa and Davis Island.

Inside the homes, investigators reportedly recovered over five pounds of cocaine, four pistols, $40,000 in cash, five pounds of marijuana, and a variety of prescription pills.
The search warrant also ended in the arrest of a second gang member, 48-year-old Joshua Dehoyos.
Deputies found probable cause to book Jose Dehoyos for two counts of unlawful use of a two-way communication device and two counts of trafficking in cocaine. Joshua was booked on separate counts, including felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, trafficking in cocaine over 400 grams, five counts of possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
