Many homeowners who weren’t previously in an evacuation zone now find themselves in one.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Following a busy 2024 hurricane season, Hillsborough County updated its evacuation zone maps for 2026. While adjustments are evident throughout all zones, there are noticeable changes to Zones A, C, and E.

Zone A is the first zone to be evacuated. This year, there is more red in the Town ‘N Country and Apollo Beach areas. If you live in a mobile or manufactured home, your evacuation zone is always Zone A.

Zone C is expanded in Citrus Park and Palm River. Zone E encompasses a large part of New Tampa that was previously not in an evacuation zone.

Evacuation zones are designated areas that may experience storm surge, flooding, or other hurricane-related impacts. You can view the 2026 Hurricane Evacuation Assessment Tool (HEAT) and find your zone on the county’s website.
