TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) – A Tampa woman is facing animal cruelty charges after deputies say she was seen on surveillance video kicking and throwing a small dog across the street.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested Imania Davis, 33, on six charges of aggravated cruelty to animals.
The sheriff’s office said Davis was seen on camera April 30 at about 8:20 p.m., picking up a small white dog by the scruff of the neck and throwing it twice on asphalt.
The video also shows Davis kicking the dog, deputies said on social media.
Deputies responded and took the dog to a veterinarian, where it was treated for a broken leg. It is now receiving care and recovering.
As of Monday morning, Davis was in the Hillsborough County Jail under $75,000 bond.
