Traffic reopened on I-75 northbound in Hernando County

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – UPDATE: Northbound traffic on Interstate 75 has been reopened in Hernando County. 

The roadway was previously closed early Tuesday after a serious crash involving a semi-truck.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 75 have been closed Tuesday morning after a multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck.

The crash, which was near the State Road 50 exit, happened before 6 a.m., leaving the roadway littered with crashed vehicles and a heavily damaged semi. 

Officials have not released details of the crash.

Traffic is being diverted off the interstate, east on SR-50 and then north again on US Hwy 301.
