Orlando job events to help former Spirit Airlines employees

ORLANDO, Fla. — Former Spirit Airlines employees are invited to attend two events to help them find their next job.

FloridaCommerce, in partnership with CareerSource Florida and CareerSource Central Florida, are hosting two rapid-response events where former Spirit employees will receive resources like resume reviews, career counseling and job search assistance.

Thousands of employees nationwide were affected with Spirit Airlines announced its closure on Saturday — according FloridaCommerce, nearly 800 of them worked at Orlando International Airport.

Both events will be held at CareerSource Central Florida Southeast Orange Career Center, 5784 S. Semoran Blvd., in Orlando. The first event begins Tuesday afternoon from 2-5 p.m. Wednesday’s session is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

According to the CareerSource Central Florida website, former Spirit Airlines employees unable to attend these events can connect with them for personalized career support and guidance.
