Boca Raton, FL – May 5, 2026 – This May, the Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) invites families to explore interactive exhibitions, immersive IMAX® experiences and hands-on learning opportunities throughout the month. From weather-themed programming and a new traveling exhibition to GIANT-screen films and engaging overnight experiences, MODS offers exciting ways for guests of all ages to learn, play and discover together.

Traveling Exhibit Spotlight: The Science of Guinness World Records | May 22 – Sept 7, 2026
The Science of Guinness World Records, presented by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and sponsored by Brightline, Family Playland and Florida Prepaid College Savings Plans, invites guests to explore the science behind extraordinary human achievements through interactive challenges that test strength, speed, focus and endurance. This high-energy exhibition blends physics, biology and psychology to showcase how record-breaking feats are accomplished while inspiring guests to push their own limits. Families can explore the science behind extreme weather during Wild Weather Weekends in May at MODS. Interactive activities throughout the Museum invite guests to experiment with hurricane forces, design storm-resistant structures and learn how weather impacts our world. Makerspace Workshop: Infinity Mirror | May 9 • 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Guests can explore the science of light and reflection while creating their own infinity mirror in this hands-on Makerspace workshop. Sensory-Friendly Sunday Morning | May 24 • 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
MODS offers a FREE sensory-friendly experience, presented by ABA Centers of Florida and Fifth Third Bank, designed for guests with sensory sensitivities. The Museum environment is adapted with adjusted lighting and sound, along with supportive resources to create a comfortable and inclusive visit. Guests can also enjoy a sensory-friendly screening of Deep Sky in the AutoNation® IMAX® 3D Theater, offering an awe-inspiring journey through the universe on the GIANT screen. Eye of the Storm (Free Admission Day) | May 30 • 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Eye of the Storm, presented by the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) and Florida International University’s International Hurricane Research Center (FIU-IHRC), with support from sponsor AARP, invites families to explore hurricane science, disaster preparedness and climate resilience during a FREE admission day at MODS. This all-day event features hands-on STEM activities, live demonstrations, storm simulations and direct access to meteorologists, hurricane experts and first responders. Guests can track storms, test wind forces, step into the WSVN Weather Studio Experience and discover how science helps keep South Florida storm-ready. South Florida Adventure Pass | May 15 – September 30
The South Florida Adventure Pass returns May 15-Sept. 30, 2026, offering unlimited summer admission to Butterfly World, Flamingo Gardens, MODS, Sawgrass Recreation Park and Zoo Miami for one low price. Passholders can enjoy butterflies, wildlife encounters, Everglades airboat adventures, inspiring science experiences and world-class animal habitats all summer long. Passes are $60 plus tax for adults (ages 13+) and $50 plus tax for children (ages 3-12). Existing annual passholders and members at participating attractions may upgrade to the South Florida Adventure Pass for $50 plus tax per adult (ages 13+) and $40 plus tax per child (ages 3-12). Blue Star Museums | May 16 – September 7
MODS proudly participates in the Blue Star Museums program, offering FREE Museum admission to active-duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve, from May 16-Sept. 7, 2026. Eligible military ID holders and up to five family members can enjoy a summer of hands-on discovery at MODS, with the option to add an IMAX® documentary film for $5 per person upon arrival at the Museum box office.
