CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK) — A Cape Coral woman’s broken pool heater was fixed after she attended a WINK Listens event on Matlacha.
Sally Harris loves her pool, but her Gulfstream pool heater broke, and she needed to get it fixed. The touch screen broke, leaving her unable to operate the heater properly.
“I went to touch it, and it’s still a piece, but it’s stuck now; it needs that new piece,” Harris said. “I looked online, that piece is $800. I don’t have that kind of money.”
Harris tried repeatedly to contact Gulfstream without success. She eventually told her pool builder, a separate company, that she was planning to attend WINK Listens.
The pool company called Gulfstream heaters on her behalf. A Gulfstream technician came out the same day as the WINK Listens event on Matlacha and fixed the heater screen, which was under warranty.
Harris only had to pay for the labor. She expressed her gratitude for WINK’s help in resolving the issue.
“I told three of my neighbors and all the texts I got about how great you are, and to go there when you have a problem,” Harris said. “Thank you so much for your help.”
A Gulfstream representative said the company wanted to make the situation right. Their notes showed they left a message for Harris after one of her calls, but needed more information.
The technicians fixed the issue, and Harris can now enjoy her pool again.
