PALM CITY, Fla. (CBS12) — Two men are facing felony charges after a road rage incident in Martin County escalated into gunfire and a crash, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say the incident happened May 5 along Southwest Martin Downs Boulevard and nearby roadways in Palm City.
According to an arrest report, Dashon Henderson, 27, of Port St. Lucie, and William Dinardo Jr., 32, of Palm City, were both arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Investigators say the confrontation began when the drivers of two vehicles — a sedan and a pickup truck — became involved in aggressive driving behavior. Authorities say the situation escalated as both men attempted to pass and block each other on the road.
According to deputies, Henderson admitted to firing a handgun during the encounter, striking the rear passenger window of the pickup truck.
Investigators also say Dinardo used his vehicle as a weapon, swerving toward Henderson’s car and attempting to block him from passing.
