Red flag warning issued for nearly all Central Florida counties – Orlando Sentinel

A red flag warning has been issued for Lake, Volusia, Seminole, Orange, Brevard and Osceola counties from noon to 8 p.m.

Winds are blowing southwest at 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph, combined with low humidity down to 27 percent to 35 percent, according to NWS Melbourne.

These are considered critical fire weather conditions.

On Thursday, temperatures are expected to be in the mid-90s and will approach record levels of heat.

There is a moderate risk of dangerous rip currents at all regional beaches.

Looking ahead, the weekend poses a major heat risk for the Orlando metro area, Treasure and Space Coasts.

Low temperature in the 70s are expected throughout the weekend.
