• I’m ticked that the Orlando Magic fired coach Jamahl Mosley. Not just in the playoffs, but players weren’t rebounding under their own basket. They weren’t scrounging for loose balls. On some plays, they stood and watched while the other team went for the ball. Put some of the blame on them. Yes, they have long-term contracts, but they should be held accountable. Yes, some were injured, but is that the coach’s fault?

• The Orlando Magic fired the head coach because his professional players missed 23 straight baskets Friday night. The players should be fired. Oh, I’m sorry, they have guaranteed contracts. What a joke.

• Maybe if more Central Florida Republicans complained to Gov. DeSantis and their representatives in the Florida Legislature, then traffic congestion relief could begin on the I-4 corridor from the Lake Buena Vista overpass to the Osceola Parkway overpass. It is long overdue.

• Why are carmakers allowed to sell cars made to go well over 100 mph in defiance of all speed limits? The manufacturers ought to be held partly accountable for high-speed accidents and required to make cars that won’t go so fast. I’d like to see a class-action suit.

The flip side

• Thank you to Theya, Noah and Annabel, who work at the front desk at the Marriott SpringHill Suites in New Smyrna Beach. We had a family beach weekend with 20 people and they were so pleasant and helpful during our stay. We really enjoyed the free breakfast each morning and the pool is a nice size.
