Magic Preview
The Thursday NBA schedule will get started with a Southeast Division battle between the Orlando Magic and the Charlotte Hornets from the Spectrum Center. For other NBA action see our NBA Predictions. The Magic (1-4) have dropped their first two road games and have taken a step back defensively in the early part of the season. Last night, Orlando was outscored by 18 points during the second half of a 135-116 road loss against Detroit.
All-Star F Paolo Banchero led six Orlando players in double figures with 24 points (10-17 FT), 11 rebounds, and seven assists. Franz Wagner added 22 points (6-14 FG) and seven boards for the Magic, who allowed the Pistons to shoot 50 percent from the field.
Hornets Preview
The Charlotte Hornets have failed to qualify for the playoffs in nine straight seasons, but the talent is in place for that to change. The Hornets (2-2) currently lead the league in offensive efficiency and are averaging an impressive 128.3 points per game. On Tuesday, Charlotte turned the ball over 18 times during a 144-117 road loss against Miami.
All five Charlotte starters scored in double figures and were led by LaMelo Ball with 20 points (6-18 FG). Rookie G Kon Knueppel knocked down 5-for-11 from long range and finished with 19 points. Collin Sexton added 18 points, six assists, and five rebounds for the Hornets.
Magic vs Hornets Pick
Charlotte F Brandon Miller (shoulder) did not suit up for Tuesday’s loss and his status for this game is uncertain. The Hornets are the better offensive team and hold a slight edge on the glass, while the Magic are playing on consecutive nights. Take Charlotte to win at home. Final Score Prediction, Charlotte Hornets win 121-117.
