Classic Religious & Popular Standards
Pompano Beach – St. Stephen Evangelical Lutheran Church will present the Keyboard Concert of Classic Religious & Popular Standards, May 16, 4 p.m. at the church, 2500 NE 14th Street Causeway. Musicians Mark Henschel and Gail Smith, known for their performances as Mark and Gail, will present an organ and piano concert to bring the joy of classical, religious and popular standards to the audience. This performance is in keeping with the Lutheran Church’s pillars of “ gathering, word, and sending” its message to its community. In keeping with its fourth pillar, “meal,” refreshments will be served after the concert in a social gathering. Attendees are asked to make a $10 donation.
Directors’ Book Club
Deerfield Beach – Broward County Library Director Allison Grubbs will lead the Directors’ Club Book Club discussion, May 11, 3:30 p.m. at the Percy White Branch LIbrary, 837 E. Hillsboro Blvd. Grubbs will review Crying in H Mart, a memoir by Michelle Zauner that explores the process of healing after loss using Korean culture and cuisine.

Southwest 10 Street Meeting
Deerfield Beach – The public is invited to present their ideas for future improvements to Southwest 10 Street at a Vision Zero Initiative meeting, May 11, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Tigner Center, 435 SW 2 St. The city seeks funding to make intersections, bike lanes, and sidewalks safer between FAU Research Park Boulevard and Dixie Highway. Vision Zero’s intent is to eliminate traffic fatalities.
