Strong storm risk from early afternoon to late evening – Orlando Sentinel

On Friday, a strong storm risk poses a threat to Central Florida.

A few strong to marginally severe storms are possible in the afternoon and evening, according to NWS Melbourne.

The window begins after 2 p.m. and extends to 11 p.m.

The storms are primarily from Orlando and Cape Canaveral northward, but could affect other parts of the region.

Hazards include lightning strikes, strong to damaging wind gusts and small hail.

A brief tornado is also possible.

Otherwise, skies are mostly sunny with a temperature high near 93 degrees, according to NWS Melbourne.

Winds are blowing west to northwest at speeds of 5-10 mph.
