CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK) — A former Ida S. Baker High School teacher and coach has made his first court appearance on Friday after being arrested following allegations that he kissed a student and communicated with her outside of school.
According to the Cape Coral Police Department, the school administration reported on Feb. 2 that a student disclosed her former teacher, Casimiro Razo, had made comments about her appearance, passed her handwritten notes, obtained her phone number, and communicated with her outside of school. The student said Razo would pass her multiple notes nearly every day.
The student also reported that in Oct. 2025, Razo asked her to stay after class, led her into a classroom storage room, and kissed her on the lips. Phone records corroborated the student’s report.
Based on the investigation, a warrant was issued for Razo’s arrest. On May 7, just before 7 a.m., he was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office on a felony warrant.
Razo was taken to the Lee County Jail on one count of sex offense against a student by an authority figure.
The Lee County School District suspended the employee in February after learning of the allegations and prohibited his return to campus pending the investigation.
During his court appearance on Friday, the judge overseeing the case set his bond at $25,000 and ordered the following: no pretrial supervision, no contact with the victim, no unsupervised contact with minors, and no permission on the school property.
Razo’s next court appearance is set for June 8 at 8:30 a.m.
