A Key West woman was struck and killed by a boat while she was scuba diving in the Florida Keys on Friday, May 8, 2026, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said.

A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Fort Lauderdale early Wednesday morning.
At around 1:30 a.m., the Fort Lauderdale Police Department responded to a possible hit-and-run in the 400 block of East Sunrise Boulevard. The pedestrian was taken to Broward Health Medical Center with “life-threatening injuries” by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, police say.
The car that hit the pedestrian was found a short distance away but with no driver inside, police say. FLPD’s Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating.
