Perhaps no event says Mother’s Day as the Eileen McCaughan Memorial Scholarship (EMMSF ) pasta dinner, which was held this past Sunday at the Beach Club.
Just as they have for 36 years, friends and neighbors gathered for one of Key Biscayne’s longest-running traditions. The fundraising event saw 15 deserving students receive scholarships awarded in memory of Eileen McCaughan, who was tragically killed by a drunk driver at just 15 years old.
Organized by the Key Biscayne Community Foundation, and a dedicated group of volunteers, the EMMSF scholarship fund has awarded close to 350 scholarships totaling nearly $650,000 since its inception.
