WESTON, Fla. — Authorities reported several people were injured and one had lost their life after a multi-vehicle crash on I-75.
It happened late Sunday morning along the westbound lanes of I-75 to the west of Indian Trade Road in Weston.
According to officials, a total of five people were injured. There appeared to be a white Dodge sedan, a blue minivan and a motorcycle that were involved in the crash.
Rescue crews said there were multiple trauma alerts among the injured that included a child who was taken by helicopter to the hospital.
All of the injured victims were taken to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, where one of the victims was pronounced deceased.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, one of the drivers involved in the crash had a suspended driver’s license.
FHP said that woman was being held in custody due to a request by U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officers.
First responders closed all westbound lanes of I-75 while processing the scene. The highway fully reopened shortly after 4 p.m.
