TAMPA, Fla. — A woman died after a driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed. The driver suffered injuries and was charged by the Florida Highway Patrol.
Around 1:50 a.m. Sunday, FHP says that Cornelius Taylor, 41, from Tampa, as well as a 37-year-old woman who was a passenger in his car, were heading south on 56th Street, and just north of Hillsborough Avenue, he lost control.
FHP says they struck a traffic sign and then crashed into a utility pole.
Both suffered injuries during the accident and were taken to a local hospital, the FHP said, adding that the 37-year-old woman later died due to her injuries.
Taylor, the driver, was charged by FHP troopers with driving with a suspended license with knowledge involving a death, FHP said.
