Jacksonville-area police news for May 12, 2026

• A 26-year-old Jacksonville woman was arrested at 1:22 p.m. Sunday on a retail theft charge. She was accused of taking merchandise without paying at Walmart, 1941 W. Morton Ave. She also was cited on a criminal trespassing charge, according to a police report

• Police were called at 5:22 p.m. Sunday to a disturbance in the 1100 block of Illinois Avenue. Those involved left before officers arrived, according to a police report.

• A 51-year-old Nebo man was booked into Pike County Jail on Sunday on a charge of reckless discharge of a firearm.

• A 55-year-old Baylis woman was booked into Pike County Jail on Thursday on a warrant accusing her of driving while license is suspended.

• A 51-year-old Perry man was booked into Pike County Jail on Thursday on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court.

• A 25-year-old Pittsfield woman was booked into Pike County Jail on May 6 on a petition to revoke probation on a charge of aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer.

• A 37-year-old Barry woman was booked into Pike County Jail on May 5 on charges of home invasion, aggravated kidnapping, residential burglary, and two counts of aggravated battery.
