CARROLLWOOD — It’s back!
And this time, it’s twins.
Bearss Grove continued its tradition of displaying a giant pumpkin through October, but under new ownership, the local farmer’s market at 14316 Lake Magdalene Blvd. has upped the ante with two massive gourds, both from Wisconsin.
The pumpkins went on display Oct. 3, and Bearss Groves will extend its pumpkin patch hours from Oct. 15 through Nov. 2, open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for kid- and pet-friendly photos.
This marks the fifth time Bearss Grove has brought in a giant pumpkin, with previous editions weighing between 800 and 1,500 pounds. The pumpkins and the farmers market sit beneath a 400-year-old live oak tree.
After closing for months following damage from hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024, the farmers market that has served the area for 130 years reopened Jan. 31. New owner Marta Zarobkiewicz completed a month of renovations and repairs to reopen the neighborhood staple.
