This week on The Big Gay Radio Show, Chris Gorman, Esmé Russell, and Vyn Suazion were joined by Leo Andersen, founder of the Queer Asian Museum in St. Petersburg. Together, they had a conversation about identity, preservation, and building community through art and history.

Leo shared the story behind the Queer Asian Museum and how the collection has been built over time. The discussion focused on the importance of preserving queer Asian stories. In addition, it highlighted creating a dedicated space where those voices and experiences can be represented and remembered.

The episode also highlighted the upcoming Queer Asian Icons event happening this Friday. During which, Big Gay Radio Show team members Vyn Suazion and Claire Elisan will both be honored. The event celebrates queer Asian voices and community leaders through performance, art, and recognition.

Alongside the interview, the team discussed a range of headlines, including concerns surrounding the Hantavirus, Charlie and Erika Kirk receiving honorary doctorates, and a nationwide data breach impacting USF and Hillsborough County Public Schools. The conversation also touched on Hungary’s new Prime Minister taking office. Furthermore, they discussed a racist altercation involving Chase Bank and Christian colleges hosting LGBTQIA+ “Lavender Graduation” ceremonies.

The conversation continued on The Big Gay After Show, where Chris, Esmé, and Vyn were joined again by Leo Andersen.

The group discussed reports of the U.S. revoking passports for parents owing more than $2,500 in child support and a gay ICE detainee being released after 150 days in detention. They also talked about “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” Additionally, the team discussed a Florida man accused of trying to “beat the gay” out of a 5-year-old boy.

Further into the episode, the discussion shifted to Trump’s proposed “Election Integrity Army,” and the Education Department probing Smith College after the school admitted a transgender woman.
