FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — A woman’s body was found floating in the water on Tuesday in Fort Pierce.
According to the Fort Pierce Police Department, the body was found shortly before 8 a.m. between the north and south bridges in the Turn Basin area. Police said Sea Tow personnel found the body in the water and immediately called emergency responders with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit and the St. Lucie County Fire District.

Police said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to the Museum Pointe Park boat ramp, where the investigation was turned over to the Fort Pierce Police Department.
An officer with the department identified the woman as a 33-year-old whom he encountered the previous day during a service call at Jaycee Park.
Police said there were no apparent signs of trauma or indications of foul play. The investigation remains ongoing pending further review by the medical examiner’s office.
