FORT PIERCE – Florida Highway Patrol and St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the cause of an accident where a car went over an overpass near Mile Marker 131 on I-95 on May 12 after about 8 a.m.
According to a St. Lucie County Fire District Facebook posting, a car went over the side of an overpass, falling nearly 30 feet before coming to rest on the southbound side of Kings Highway.
Three patients were taken by ground as trauma alerts to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, according to the posting.
The location is near State Road 68 (Orange Avenue), west of Fort Pierce.
No other vehicles were involved.
