Re-elected members of the Jacksonville City Council took the oath of office to begin the May 12 meeting.
Mayor Randy Gorham and Councilman Tim McRae, District 3, ran unopposed and were considered elected without being placed on the May 2 ballot. Councilwoman Letitia Horace defeated her opponent Katrina Choice to retain her seat on the council, representing District 1.
Dianah Surber, city clerk, conducted the oath of office for Gorham. Once sworn in himself, Gorham conducted the oath of office for Horace and McRae.

All three council members will serve three-year terms.
Other members of the council are Mindy Gellock, District 2, and Rob Gowin, Place 4.
Gellock was elected to serve as mayor pro-tem.
The city council meets the second Tuesday of the month in council chambers at Jacksonville City Hall, 315 S. Ragsdale Street.
