Thousands of Christians took a new step in their faith journey Sunday, gathering together for a mass baptism event.
The Church of Eleven22 held its annual Beach Baptism at Hanna Park and saw a significant increase in attendance. In 2025, nearly 2,000 people were baptized; this year, it was more than 2,500, according to a church spokesperson.
Aerial video from the event shows lines of people waiting their turn to enter the Atlantic Ocean and cheering on others.

“Baptism is more than a moment. It’s a step of obedience, a celebration of new life and a powerful reminder that you are made new in Him,” the church wrote on social media.
The Church of Eleven22 was founded in Jacksonville in 2012 by Pastor Joby Martin. Since its inception, it has expanded its reach with locations throughout Northeast Florida and into South Georgia. The non-denominational church is also set to open a new location in Orlando later this year.
