The Sheriff’s Office said that Florida is known for its unique wildlife, and alligators are frequent visitors, especially during warm weather and after heavy rains. These reptiles love to travel between lakes and ponds in search of food and new territory.

While they generally prefer to keep their distance from humans, they can pose a threat if approached, particularly to children and pets.
