USF’s Student Government certified election results were released May 12, confirming federal and local roles for its seventh consolidated term.
Madisyn Mcreynolds, SG’s supervisor of elections, said the student body president, vice president and campus governors and lieutenant governors were sworn into their positions last Wednesday.
Hunter Rabinowitz and Mia Riley were certified as the presidential winners of the general election and serve as the student body president and vice president.
The ticket competed against four other presidential tickets — including runners-up Caio Esmeraldi, the previous student body vice president and Maria Julia Mussa Martins, a Tampa senator and policy committee vice chair.
Rabinowitz and Riley won by 1,494 total votes, according to SG’s Results Calculator.
The two campaigned on a three-pronged goal to improve community collaboration, campus safety and SG processes for student organizations.
Rabinowitz said he is “thrilled” to work as USF’s student body president alongside Riley.
“It is an incredible honor to step into this role representing nearly 50,000 students from around the world at one of America’s leading research universities, and we are both energized and ready to hit the ground running,” he said.
The student body president and vice president serve all three USF campuses, while governors and lieutenant governors are campus-specific. Each position serves a one-year term, according to SG.
