JAFCO is an organization that provides care, safety and support to children and their families within the Jewish community and beyond who are affected by abuse, neglect, trauma or developmental disabilities.
The Miami chapter recently hosted its annual Live Love Lunch luncheon at the University of Miami Shalala Student Center to raise funds and awareness for JAFCO as well as honor longtime supporter Judith Katzen for her continued dedication to the organization.
“Every child has potential and is unique,” Katzen said. “If we lose one child from neglect, we lose the opportunity to discover their unique impact on the world.”
The event also had a boutique, auction and remarks by a JAFCO alumnus, Josh Shapiro.
“I am standing here because people I never met decided to care about a child they would never know,” Shapiro said. “What you do here today ripples far beyond this ballroom. It creates safety, possibility and futures.”
