JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KATV) — Jacksonville Police have identified the 6-year-old boy who was killed in a shooting on Sunday.
Around 7:30 Sunday evening, Jacksonville Police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of South Highway 161.
According to Captain Ryan Wright with Jacksonville PD, the shooting occurred in the 2000 block of Cloverdale Road. By the time officers arrived on scene, they found the 6-year-old boy, A’mir Houston, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Houston was in a vehicle with two other adults, neither of whom were injured. He would later die at an area hospital.
Now, police are looking for Artavius Johnson, who was last seen in a 2012 Hyundai Elantra, which was first spotted on a security camera of a pavilion located in The Meadows neighborhood, just a few hundred yards away from where the shooting took place.
