Allegiant Travel Company will launch two nonstop routes from St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport. Philadelphia and Columbia, Missouri, are the new destinations. The ultra-low-cost carrier made the announcement as it grows its presence in Florida.
Service from PIE to Philadelphia International Airport begins October 2. Flights run on Mondays and Fridays. Columbia Regional Airport gets its first flight on November 19 with service on Sundays and Thursdays.
One-way fares start at $59 for Philadelphia. Columbia tickets begin at $69. Travelers can also earn bonus Allways Rewards points when they book these new flights.
“We’re excited to announce these new routes and believe it is an important time for Allegiant to increase travel options in these markets,” said Drew Wells, the company’s chief commercial officer, according to I Love The Burg. “Our mission is to offer service where it is needed most, and these additions ensure that affordable fares can remain available to consumers despite industry changes.”
Allegiant now flies to more than 60 nonstop destinations from PIE. This makes it the airport’s biggest carrier. The airline brings thousands of tourists to Pinellas County each year.
Wells said the new routes match places where people want to fly. Allegiant connects smaller cities to vacation spots that travelers love visiting.
Philadelphia has grown over the last ten years. It offers history, pro sports, and restaurants that draw food lovers. Columbia sits at the heart of Missouri and hosts the University of Missouri, giving fans access to SEC sports.
